For most projects, if you are able to provide pictures of the area you will need railing, gates, etc we can expedite a quote without a site visit. For larger or more complicated projects a site visit will be required. Just email us or call and we can advise per your situation. When emailing any pictures. Dimensions (rough) and examples of what you are trying to accomplish will help us quote accordingly.

The term iron and steel are used interchangeably. Wrought iron is a iron alloy with a very low carbon
content compared to steel used predominantly prior to 1920. Wrought iron is no longer commercially produced due to the effective methods of producing steel today except where necessary produce somthing with great historic significance.
Wrought, is to work. That is why steel products worked by hand are called so today. Wrought iron today is really more of a style than a product.
Timeframes vary from project to project. Small jobs are usually completed within 3 weeks. Larger, intricate and detailed projects tend to take more time.
Our current backlog at the time of your approval is also a factor.
Weather delays also occur especially in the colder months where temps are <50 degrees. Regardless, we will communicate with you giving a realistic timeline for your project.
Our products are typically primed and painted with a marine grade oil based enamel. The key for coated steel is preparation. Our steel is degreased and cleaned prior to the prime coat then top coated with the selected color. Gloss black is most common but custom colors are also available.
Powder coating is available upon request but any specialty finishes are typically as costly or more than the fabrication itself.
So just as with most things in your home, fabricated exterior steel will require some care. Fading is the most common issue. Painting every 6-8 years depending on the weather/sun exposure. Rust is always a concern with steel. Any noticeble rust should be cleaned with a wire brush and touch up with a oil based paint. Any gate hinges will need lubrication from time to time to keep them operating properly.
Shop visits are welcome. We just ask you call or email us for an appointment. Since we are small, at times we are all out on projects without anyone at the shop.
We do have a small showroom with displays of our work. We encourage our customers to come by to see our operation, look at materials and discuss projects.
